Outfits of the 2014 VMAs

I am sure many of you have tuned in last night to the VMAs, or at least the red carpet portion.  And I wanted to quickly post about the outfits which stood out the most to me.

Miley and Nicki did not fail to shock the crowd, but this time due to the fact that they both dressed pretty conservative (for them).  Nevertheless, they both looked stunning.

Holly throwback.  Katy Perry and her date Riff Raff hit the red carpet in denim.  Ring any bells?  How about Britney and Justin in the 2001 AMA's.  Though many did not awe over the couple's ensemble, Britney tweeted at Katy Perry congratulating her on bringing back the denim.

And finally few of my favorite gowns.  Love the these gowns which accentuate the tiny waists and grand booties of these females.  JLo and Beyonce always rock the red carpet, and now we have a new face to watch for.

DIY "It's not you, it's your eyebrows" top

Long time no talk and I will not post any excuses.  However, hopefully one day I will learn to post systematically.

Aside from that, here is a top I have made recently. I have seen it a few times on instagram and fell in love with it! Eyebrows are obviously important, hello! and it's just a witty-cute saying.  I was thinking about buying it, but when I saw the price of $35...for a t-shirt...I changed my mind and decided that I can make a very similar one for $5.  Hope I get to save some of you few bucks! I did not take a picture of every step, however I will explain everything I did.

You will need a plain white t-shit (I took one of my boyfriends old ones), Puffy fabric paint (I got one at Walmart),  small brushes with sturdy bristles (I had some older ones from art classes) something to put inside of your shirt to keep the fabric in one place and so the paint wont go through the fabric (I have an old canvas, but you can use a shoe box or an old book) a little bit of water to mix the puffy paint with and a pair of scissors.

  • First thing I did was put the canvas inside of my shirt, and folded the sleeves and the collar so it won't get in my way.
  • After that you can take a pencil and sketch out the letters and plan how you will spread them out.
  • Now all you have left is to put your artistic skills in action, not really, but you will have to paint the letters on. Slowly and with caution paint your letters, and be careful not to mix too much water with your paint because the water will spread through the fabric.   If you make a mistake don't worry, no one will notice.  These days there are many tops with "handwriting" font on them.
  • The painting part took me about an hour or so, probably because I was so concentrated on watching Pretty Little Liars (I've been addicted!)
  • When you are satisfied with your writing, leave the shirt to try for a few hours.
  • I did not take any pictures of that, BUT after the letters dried I cut off the sleeves, the collar and I made it a little shorter.
  • TAAA-DAAA

I love wearing this top to the gym, but you could also wear it everyday with a pair of jeans and some cute sandals.

Hope you guys enjoyed this DIY and if any of you decide to make this send me some pictures!
Talk to you soon!!!

Shoes: studded flats-SO, sandals-Michael Kors, sneakers-FG or Vans
Bags: black Michael Kors Hamilton, pink Marc Jacobs Dreamy Embossed Wallet, wristlet Coach Skinny

Hey guys! We have survived another week!
I wanted to share with you one of my favorite trends.  V neck tees  I have been obsessed with them recently, wear them at least 4 days out of the week.  You can dress them up, by putting a cute cardigan or blazer over it or throw a pair of leggings on and run errands.  These are some examples of how I personally wear them.  Keep in mind that I did not accessorize too much, and with just a necklace, bracelets or a watch you can change your look.  Now you can pull them out of the back of your closet and get creative!  Let me know how you would wear your v-neck tee!
Have a great weekend! And come back soon for more :)

Start of something...

Not many will see this post, since it is the first one...and I don't have any readers so far!
This blog is more of a get away place for me.  I have a set schedule...and a set future. However, aside from all that I have always had an interest in fashion, DIY and fitness.  And this blog will be a place where I can finally share what I love.
Although, today I have many hopes for this blog only time will tell where this niche will end up.

Maja
